EDGE Session III

Equipping for Disciple Making
Helping others to love Jesus as much as you do

This is the third of a six-part series by Bobby Dean.

Listen to Session III

Watch the EDGE Overview (Flash Presentation)

What is Disciple Making? Matthew 28:18-20
Disciple making is more than a follow-up Bible study and directing people to join a church. There is great joy in participating in all stages of the discipleship process:

Cultivating/Loving ( Sowing/Hearing (
Nurturing/Listening ( Reaping/Believing ( Developing/Growing

2 Timothy 2:2 - And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.

PAUL ( TIMOTHY ( RELIABLE MEN ( OTHERS

Where does disciple making happen?
In Relationships. In community. In church life.
In Homes. In Schools. At Work. At Church. At Play.

What methods are best to nurture and equip new believers?

How will you nurture and equip mature believers?

  • Have expectations for obedience

  • Have a vision for multiplication

  • Apprentice leaders – Model, Assist, Watch, & Leave

Accountability: Acts 1:8
  • Make a list of all the new believers / responsive believers you are aware of

  • Begin making disciples with one of them before we meet again.

  • Be available to teach Equipping for the EDGE as God leads.
